Vintage 40s rayon satin nightgown and bed jacket with elaborate trapunto embroidery. This is a beautiful piece. the gown has shoulder straps and a halter neck strap and a waistband with trapunto embroidery edged in braid. Truly amazing. It is fashioned of a rayon satin and has the big bottom with a broad sweep. There is a side metal zip closure. The matching jacket is a short cropped design with pleated sleeves and heavy trapunto embroidery throughout; very striking.
Condition is good to age; This nightgown and bed jacket have some fade discoloration but not glaring. There is also surface dirt at the bottom hemline.
